Exhausting Work
You know that feeling when you're tired, but it's a "good tired?" I've got that. Well, almost. It's not good enough yet. I've got the tired part down- even a couple of blisters starting - but it's not good until I'm completely done.
I dropped my husband off at the airport last Friday. Before he blew into the Windy City, I had started my little project. Make that "little" project.
I'm almost done. Almost! I would've been done by 11:00 tonight, but I ran into a problem with some store-bought stuff that doesn't quite work with our current situation.
Sorry to be cryptic, but if my husband takes an internet break while he's out of town, I don't want him to know what the little project is. I want him to come home and guess what I've done (like he'll have to guess!)
My girls have helped most of the way, but in the final stretch here, I'm on my own. So, hour upon hour, I'm doing "stuff." I can't wait until he sees it.
I called my strong contractor neighbor over tonight, because one part just wouldn't work. I didn't have enough muscle for one little bit. The neighbor did. He looked around and said it looked great. The neighbor on the other side of me said she can't wait to see it done, because she's been thinking about doing it, too.
Now, I just have to be sure that the end result is so good it creates neighbor-envy. I'd love to be the "Johnsons" that they feel the need to keep up with.
