Can I Get A Little Sweat With That?
I've been working in my classroom on and off for the last week.
Working may not be the best word for it.
It's so humid and warm in that room, that you work up a sweat just picking up the phone. I'd move a desk, sit in front of the fan, bring a pile of books upstairs from the office, sit in front of the fan, file teacher references, sit in front of the fan.
I made some appointments, worked on my class schedule, checked e-mail, and had snacks during the "sweat evaporation" process. After awhile, even the fan wasn't making the moisture disappear. So, I went home.
That's pretty much how my schedule works at this point in the year.
This is my fourth year at this school, so I finally feel like I won't panic the days before school starts. I'll believe when I actually sleep through the night! I think first day jitters are more amplified for me than any of my students. I will have every minute of the day planned, but will still wake up thinking about some little detail (that doesn't really matter.)
I'll try not to "sweat" the small stuff.
