Don't go to Bible Study
I heard this on the radio today. A famous evangelist gave a short message on the Christian radio station. She suggested we quit our Christian groups and Bible study in favor of evangelism.
I was taken aback and responded to her out loud, "WHAT??"
I understand her premise - that some Christians spend all their time in the safety of Christian circles and study, and never share that gift of faith with others. Fine. I get it.
But, I don't know anybody who has the problem of studying the Bible too much. Seriously, can it really happen?
I used to be someone who couldn't imagine ever sharing her faith. I believed it. I lived it. But, putting it into words was beyond me. I was very shy as a kid and was put down when I "acted smart" or "acted too good." So, those around me made it difficult to share my faith or God's Word.
Then, as a result of Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ, I discovered how to come out of my shell. Slowly, after months of practicing witnessing and studying the Bible, I became more confident in my witness.
Had I not studied the Bible more and more, and been surrounded by a Christian group of friends, I would not have been able to witness or become the person I am today.
Though I'm certainly not the boldest evangelist you'll ever see, nor the most "perfect" Christian, I have no problem sharing my faith with others. I doubt a day goes by without a witness of some sort.
A natural byproduct of know God's Word, learning more about it, and being in Christian groups is the sharing of your faith.
My faith is built up daily, thanks to the Holy Spirit who ministers to me through His Word and through my friends and family.
I can't help but share it!
