To Ham or not to Ham
I did it! I got the little slip of paper that says I passed my technician level amateur radio test.
The guy came out of the room where they scored the tests. He had this serious look on his face, like right before they tell you your mother just died. Then he said, "Congratulations, Stephenie. You are our first 100%."
I started dancing in the hallway. Okay, I don't dance, but I did put my fists in the air and say something like, "Oh yeah! I beat my husband's score!" Had my children been there, I would've been told that I embarrassed them. So would my husband.
Nevertheless, I was very excited and happy to have not only passed, but gotten 100%. I found it rather difficult to master the material, since I'm just not into that technical stuff like "How much power is represented by a voltage of 13.8 volts DC and a current of 10 amperes?" But, I learned it, and now that question is a piece of cake. Simple pie.
DH has his eye on two new radios for us. I'm looking forward to finding out my call sign.
