I've been published again (not a book, but still good)
I love mail, but it's even more fun when it's a mysterious envelope.
Last night, when I got home and my mind was racing through dinner possibilities, I saw a large envelope from Scholastic. It felt like it held a magazine. I LOVE magazines. But, why would they send me one in a big white envelope? A free sample, probably. Cool! I love free stuff, too.
So, I opened it, saw that it was Instructor magazine, and my first thoughts were, "My submission was so bad that they thought they should send me another sample, so I can see what they really want!"
Seriously, that's what I thought.
My second thought went something like this, "Well, if they're going to spend the money, I'm going to enjoy reading my free magazine!"
Finally, a light bulb flashed, and I scrambled through the issue, looking for my name.

I had submitted seven back-to-school ideas. They took one! Yay!
And, if that weren't enough - mail, magazine, free magazine, seeing my words in print, seeing my name in print - I also realized that I may get paid for it.
Oh, yeah. This is just part of the reason I love writing.

Congrats on your submission being accepted! This is one more notch in your belt.
I'm looking forward to the hardcover book that has your picture on the back!
