Saturday's Book Recommendation: Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin
I enjoy Doreen Cronin's books
. When I read Diary of a Spider, I thought about how it would be a nice read-aloud for a preschool, daycare, Kindergarten, etc. I think it would be a great way to kick off an arthropod or arachnid study unit.
It also might be a good writing project. After reading Diary of a Spider, you could have kids write Diary of a Schnauzer, Diary of a Giraffe, or Diary of a Peach. Be creative!
The book is more of an episodic book than one with a plot that builds to a peak. I think it is hard to pull off that type of writing in a picture book, but Doreen Cronin does it well!
