Book Recommendation: Bradybug by Donna Shepherd
What happens when you call a male bug a lady? He gets annoyed and points out all the other male animals who wouldn't be mistaken for females.
I think Donna did a great, entertaining job with the topic. It's very educational,but you don't feel like you're reading a textbook.
Negatives: I think the book might be a tad over-priced for what it looks like (it has a self-published, lower quality look to me.) And, I'm not sure that all the poetry is right on. Some of it definitely rolls off the tongue, while other verses seem a little forced.
But, overall, it's a great story. And, even better, Donna has a blog with extra, related activities to use with your classroom or small children. The extras make up for any weakness in the book.
